Elegant and Alpine in character, with candied rose, red cherry and wild berries joined by tobacco, anise and white pepper. The palate is finely structured, its soft-grained tannins and fresh acidity carrying the fruit with measured intensity. A long, savoury finish invites roast game birds, braised beef, mushroom risotto or aged mountain cheese.

About Barbacàn
Barbacàn is the Sega family’s winery in San Giacomo di Teglio, in Valtellina, where Angelo works with his sons Luca and Matteo. Chiavennasca—the local name for Nebbiolo—anchors the vineyards alongside old regional varieties preserved in mixed plantings. The wines undergo spontaneous fermentation and mature in neutral vessels.
