Dark berries, black cherry and plum lead into cedar, cocoa and quiet spice. The palate is full-bodied and layered, with blackcurrant, bramble, dark chocolate and savoury herbs carried by firm but refined tannins. Toasted oak lingers through a long, smooth finish. Decant briefly and serve with grilled flank steak, lamb shank, mushroom ragu or aged cheddar.
