About Brancaia
Bruno and Brigitte Widmer bought Brancaia in Castellina in Chianti in 1981 and brought in their first harvest that year. Their daughter Barbara joined the 1993 harvest, then left architecture to study winemaking and went on to lead the cellar.
The family works three Tuscan estates: Castellina, high-lying Radda and a property near the Maremma coast. The wines include Chianti Classico and Tuscan blends, with Sangiovese joined by international grape varieties grown in Maremma.
