About Kühling-Gillot
The Spanier-Gillot family has cultivated vines on Rheinhessen's Rhine Terrace for over 200 years, with Kühling-Gillot's key vineyards on the steep red soils above the river. Carolin Spanier-Gillot took the lead in 2006. Certified organic since 2004, the vineyards are farmed along biodynamic lines, largely by hand and without irrigation.
Winemaking favours spontaneous fermentation, long lees ageing and large wooden casks. The wines are bottled without fining and with minimal sulphur additions.
