Cabernet Franc comes from Crown Point Vineyard in Happy Canyon. The site has serpentine loam and clay-loam soils, with pronounced shifts between daytime and nighttime temperatures. Whole clusters are placed in concrete, foot crushed and gently pumped over. The wine is pressed back into concrete for ten months of ageing before bottling. It contains twelve percent alcohol and comes from Santa Barbara County.

Wild red and black berries open with tea leaf, underbrush and a subtle iodine note. The palate is light-bodied yet supple, carrying juicy fruit through fine tannins and a distinctly earthy line. Fragrance and freshness keep the wine lifted despite its savoury depth. The finish is long and composed, leaving berry fruit, dried herbs, forest floor and a quiet mineral trace.
