Château Lynch-Bages 2020 Pauillac
Cabernet Sauvignon accounts for sixty percent of the blend, with Merlot at thirty-one percent, Petit Verdot at five percent and Cabernet Franc at four percent. The vineyard soil is Garonne gravel. The grapes are hand-picked and sorted in the vineyard. Ageing lasts eighteen months in French oak barrels, with new wood accounting for seventy-five percent.
Château Haut-Batailley 2016 Pauillac
Blackcurrant, blueberry and blackberry open with violet, pressed iris and a light peppery note. The palate is tightly framed yet approachable, combining dark fruit with fine, slightly chalky tannins and bright linear acidity. Fresh marzipan and subtle spice add depth as the structure begins to soften. The finish is smooth and persistent, carrying floral lift, ripe fruit and polished Pauillac restraint.
