Sage Hayward Vineyards 2022 Pinot Gris
Pinot Gris comes from sloping fields at a Saturna Island estate in British Columbia’s Gulf Islands. The vineyard has a rich clay base infused with ancient marine sediment. Farming is sustainable and holistic, and the winemaking follows traditional techniques. The estate works to produce wines with a distinct sense of place from its Gulf Islands site. Max Legris serves as viticulturist and winemaker.
Sage Hayward 2023 Estate Pinot Noir
Fruit comes from Falcon Ridge and Raven Hill vineyards on Saturna Island. The site lies in the Southern Gulf Islands, where a cool maritime climate meets dense sand and mudstone over clay with ancient marine sediment. The wine is rich and medium-bodied, with a lingering spicy finish. Pinot Noir is hand-picked from estate vines, and the first plantings on the property date to nineteen ninety-five.
Sea Star 2021 Prose 375 mL
Grapefruit, peach and apricot lead an expressive, late-harvest profile, with green apple adding freshness beneath the riper fruit. The palate is sweet but lifted, its bright acidity and faint natural spritz keeping the finish lively rather than heavy. Serve well chilled with fruit tart, blue cheese, almond cake or as a small, refreshing dessert on its own.
Sea Star 2022 Chardonnay
Bright acidity gives this polished Chardonnay a clean, energetic frame. Green apple and pear lead, while subtle oak and toasted nuts bring gentle breadth and savoury detail. Balanced rather than overtly rich, it carries freshness through the palate and finishes with an understated nutty edge. A natural match for salmon or poultry with butter and herbs.
