Eden Valley
Eden Valley
Henschke 2024 Peggy’s Hill Riesling
Australian White
Pale straw colour with lime-green reflections accompanies white florals, almond blossom, lime and white peach. The palate is rich and concentrated, with ripe citrus, bright acidity, mineral texture and length. Riesling from Eden Valley growers is hand-picked, partly crushed and chilled, gently pressed, cool-fermented and kept on lees. Some vines are up to fifty years old, and alcohol is eleven and a half percent.
Coulter Wines 2022 C4 Eden Valley Riesling
Australian White
Green apple, lime sorbet and wet limestone appear in a finely focused Riesling. The wine is linear and persistent, with racy acidity and a long, steely finish. Fruit comes from Eden Valley in South Australia, and the style is bone dry. The producer works with grower fruit and makes its wines in a former church at Uleybury in the Adelaide Hills.
Henschke 2001 Mount Edelstone Shiraz
Australian Red
Mulberry, blackcurrant and plum rise with sage, rosemary and black pepper, followed by tobacco leaf, anise and gently developed oak. The palate remains rich and concentrated, with savoury herbal detail, fine acidity and long, silky tannins. Mature yet composed, it closes with spice, depth and remarkable persistence.
Massena 2017 Fruit Salad Block Field Blend
Australian White
Rose petal, candied citrus and ripe stone fruit open with ginger, exotic spice and a light green-herbal note. The palate is sleek and electric, balancing juicy fruit with perky acidity and a fine saline mineral edge. Light on its feet yet texturally detailed, it finishes fresh and persistent, with aromatic lift and a gently savoury close.
