AboutMassena
Massena began around 2000 as a Barossa collaboration between winemakers Jaysen Collins and Dan Standish. Glen Monaghan later joined the project.
The winery works with growers in Greenock, Stone Well and Moppa, including dry-farmed sites and old vineyards. Grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation uses native yeasts, with minimal sulphur additions and no fining or filtration before bottling.
Massena 2017 Fruit Salad Block Field Blend
Australian White
Rose petal, candied citrus and ripe stone fruit open with ginger, exotic spice and a light green-herbal note. The palate is sleek and electric, balancing juicy fruit with perky acidity and a fine saline mineral edge. Light on its feet yet texturally detailed, it finishes fresh and persistent, with aromatic lift and a gently savoury close.
