About La Crema
Founded in 1979 under the name La Crema Vinera—'best of the vine'—the winery made cool-climate California Chardonnay and Pinot Noir its defining purpose. Jess Jackson and Barbara Banke brought the winery into their family of estates in the early 1990s. La Crema is women-owned and women-led.
From its Sonoma base, La Crema works with cool coastal vineyards in California and Oregon, where fog and wind moderate warm days. Wines are made in small lots, with an emphasis on the differences between the regions.
