Red and black fruit unfold with licorice, sagebrush and a dry savoury accent. The palate is controlled rather than heavy, with stylish fruit held by measured structure and balanced acidity. A gentle earthy note develops as it opens, leading to a composed finish. Decant briefly and pair with grilled beef, rosemary lamb, roast squash or aged cheddar.

About Poplar Grove Winery
Founded in 1993, Poplar Grove was one of the first five wineries established on the Naramata Bench. Merlot and Cabernet Franc formed the first plantings, and the 1995 debut vintage amounted to just 150 cases. Tony and Barb Holler purchased the winery in 2007; today their four sons share responsibilities across the vineyards and business.
The family farms vineyards on the Naramata and Skaha benches and around Osoyoos, matching varieties to different sites. Its Middle Bench winery opened in 2011.
