Earthy cassis and red fruit meet leafy herbs and a distinctly savoury edge. Round and soft on entry, the palate is shaped by accommodating chalky tannins and enough freshness to keep the mature fruit composed. The finish is balanced and gently persistent. Decant carefully, then serve with a rare steak, roast lamb, lentils or a mushroom gratin.

About Poplar Grove Winery
Founded in 1993, Poplar Grove was one of the first five wineries established on the Naramata Bench. Merlot and Cabernet Franc formed the first plantings, and the 1995 debut vintage amounted to just 150 cases. Tony and Barb Holler purchased the winery in 2007; today their four sons share responsibilities across the vineyards and business.
The family farms vineyards on the Naramata and Skaha benches and around Osoyoos, matching varieties to different sites. Its Middle Bench winery opened in 2011.
