Il Poggione 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Paganelli
$149.99
Intense ruby in the glass, with layered red cherry and plum joined by savoury spice, leather and a quiet tobacco note. The palate is full and concentrated, balancing ripe fruit with bright acidity and firm, polished tannins. Cedar and earthy detail build through the middle, while the finish remains long, structured and composed. Decant before serving with roast beef, braised game, mushroom dishes, truffles or mature hard cheese.

About Il Poggione
Il Poggione's modern story began near the close of the nineteenth century, when Lavinio Franceschi established the estate in the hills south of Montalcino. Leopoldo and Livia Franceschi continue the family's work at the estate. Among the early estates to bring Brunello to market, Il Poggione was also a founding member of the denomination's growers' consortium.
The vineyards are part of a diversified farm around Sant'Angelo in Colle and include a site planted in 1964. Grapes are picked by hand.
