Elena Walch 2024 Schiava Alto Adige

Bright ruby colour accompanies a delicate cherry note. The palate is harmonious, with mild acidity and tannin, while bitter almond appears on the finish. The wine is made entirely from Schiava. Fermentation in stainless steel includes six days of skin contact, and maturation takes place in traditional large oak casks. The grapes are handpicked from calcareous soils at medium altitude.

About Elena Walch
Elena Walch is a family-run Alto Adige estate whose modern chapter began when the architect Elena Walch married into one of the region's longstanding wine families. She brought a new emphasis on quality and vineyard identity, becoming an important early female voice in Alto Adige's wine sector. Her daughters Julia and Karoline are taking the family business into its fifth generation. The family's aim is for each wine to express its vineyard's soil, climate and cultivation.
