Domaine Bernard Baudry 2021 Le Domaine Chinon

Raspberry and redcurrant meet subtle mineral notes. The palate carries the same fruit with acidity and discreet tannins. Cabernet Franc comes from soils composed of seventy percent gravel and thirty percent slope clay. The vines average thirty to thirty-five years old. Grapes were harvested by hand, fermentation was slow in cement tanks, and maturation lasted twelve months in older barrels and wooden vats. The wine was bottled in autumn.

About Domaine Bernard Baudry
Bernard Baudry established his Chinon domaine in Cravant-les-Côteaux in 1975 after studying oenology and working as a vineyard adviser in Tours. His son Matthieu joined in 2000, following training and harvest work outside the Loire. Cabernet Franc supplies the reds and rosé, while Chenin Blanc is used for the dry white.
