Floral, light on its feet and juicy, this Gamay comes from organically farmed vineyards facing Mont Brouilly. The fruit grows on sandy soils, and the wine ages briefly in concrete tank. It is red, carries twelve percent alcohol and is bottled as Beaujolais Nouveau. The grapes are harvested by hand and ferment naturally; the source parcel sits opposite the western slope of Côte de Brouilly.

About La Sœur Cadette
La Sœur Cadette is Valentin Montanet's Burgundy project, built on a family winegrowing story that began when Jean and Catherine Montanet planted their first vineyards around Vézelay in 1987. The family's vineyards began conversion to organic farming in 1999 and were certified organic in 2002. Valentin joined the family cellar in the 2000s before establishing La Sœur Cadette as a négociant, making wines with fruit from across Burgundy and Beaujolais.
