Moric 2019 Hidden Treasures No. 3 Balaton Riesling Furmint

Riesling and Furmint are used in equal proportions for this dry white wine from Hungary’s Balaton region. Floral notes, white and yellow stone fruit and a faint herbal note appear with intense fruit, balanced acidity, minerality, darker saline tones and length. Fermentation is spontaneous, and maturation takes place in stainless steel and Hungarian oak. The wine contains thirteen percent alcohol.

About Moric
Roland Velich founded Moric in 2001 with a focus on Blaufränkisch from Austria’s Burgenland. Based in Grosshöflein, he works with old vines around Lutzmannsburg and Neckenmarkt, on primary rock and chalky sediments from the prehistoric Pannonian Sea.
His cellar approach includes natural fermentation in open vats, ageing in large oak and bottling without fining or filtration. The range also includes white wines and Hidden Treasures, a series of collaborations in Hungary.
