About Ricasoli
The Ricasoli family has been at Brolio in Gaiole in Chianti since 1141. In 1872, Baron Bettino Ricasoli recorded a wine formula that helped shape modern Chianti Classico. Francesco Ricasoli returned to lead the company in 1993 and began renewing the vineyards.
Today, the roughly 1,200-hectare property includes nearly 240 hectares of vines among woodland and olive groves. The team maps the soils and studies different selections of Brolio Sangiovese to guide vineyard work.
