Clos des Vignes du Maynes 2020 Mâcon-Cruzille Manganite

Gamay comes from vines planted in nineteen fifty-three on limestone soils. Whole bunches undergo semi-carbonic maceration in wooden vats. The wine is bottled without fining, filtration or added sulphur. Lifted tart berry and floral tones meet a soft texture. The parcel lies in Mâcon-Cruzille in Burgundy’s Mâconnais, and the finished wine carries 14.5 percent alcohol.

About Julien Guillot
The roots of Les Vignes du Maynes reach back to a 910 record of a vineyard clos farmed for centuries by the monks of Cluny. Pierre and Jeanne Guillot acquired the Cruzille estate in 1952.
Julien Guillot joined in 1998, introduced biodynamic preparations and took over in 2001. He works with native yeasts and little or no filtration, making wines from Chardonnay, Gamay and Pinot Noir.
