Deep orange in colour, this is the driest and most savoury cider in the range. The apples come from trees on flint-strewn upper slopes above the cellar, where cattle graze between the rows and supply manure for the orchard. Its dry, savoury character makes it particularly food-friendly, while the intense colour gives the glass a distinctive visual presence.

About Julien Frémont
Julien Frémont continues a family cider and Calvados tradition at Fort Manel in the Pays d'Auge, where the Frémonts have worked with apples since 1759. Cattle graze the grass beneath the high-stem apple trees and fertilize the soil. Julien farms the orchards organically and biodynamically.
Fruit is gathered by hand, rested in the loft and pressed through a basket press more than two centuries old before natural fermentation in seasoned wooden vats. The cider is bottled without added sulphur, fining or filtration. For his Calvados, fermented cider is distilled and the spirit matured in older barrels.
