Cuevas de Arom 2020 Altas Parcelas Garnacha

Pure Garnacha comes from old, head-pruned vines planted between 700 and 850 metres on slate, quartzite, sand, limestone and clay. At least half the fruit is retained as whole clusters and fermented with natural yeast in concrete. Ten months of ageing also takes place in concrete. The profile is fruit-driven and juicy, with fine tannins and fresh, fluid character.

About Cuevas de Arom
Cuevas de Arom takes its name from AROM, the first wine Fernando Mora made in his Zaragoza flat in 2008, with his surname written backwards. Mora and Yolanda Díaz lead the collaboration between Bodegas Frontonio and Bodegas San Alejandro, which began in Campo de Borja before moving to Calatayud.
Old Garnacha vines grow on steep slate and quartzite slopes around Alarba, Acered and Murero, more than 800 metres above sea level. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented with local yeasts; the cellar uses concrete, wood and ceramic vessels.
