About Château Ferran
Vines have occupied Château Ferran's Martillac property since the eighteenth century, when Montesquieu owned the estate. The current family has owned it since 1880; Philippe and Ghislaine Lacoste revived the vineyard in the late 1990s, and a fifth generation began taking over in 2018. Vines share the seventy-hectare property with old woodland and pastures for Bazadaise cattle.
Ferran makes red and white Pessac-Léognan: Merlot leads the red vineyard, alongside Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, while Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon are grown for the white. The estate has held HVE level 3 environmental certification since 2018.
