Domaine des Escaravailles 2022 Argilla ad Argillam Rasteau

Purple-red colour accompanies wild blackberry, star anise, rosemary, graphite, mineral notes and salinity. The palate is ample and includes wild fruit. Grenache and Syrah come from the Sambiches site at 340 metres, on red clay and limestone. Grapes are hand harvested and fully destemmed, then fermented separately in concrete. Maturation lasts nine months in amphorae. Serve at 16°C.

About Domaine des Escaravailles
Domaine des Escaravailles began in 1953 when Jean-Louis Ferran bought an abandoned farm high above Rasteau and the family gradually planted the land to vines. Gilles and Laurence Ferran now lead the domaine with their daughter Madeline, who joined in 2018 as the fourth generation. Grenache, Syrah and Carignan grow on elevated sites across the Southern Rhône.
In the underground cellar, the choice of ageing vessel and time is tailored to the vineyard and vintage. The range includes Rasteau, Cairanne and Côtes du Rhône.
