Henri de Villamont 2022 Bourgogne Pinot Noir
$56.99
Red cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry open with a delicate violet lift. A light touch of cedar and cinnamon adds quiet savoury depth without masking the fruit. The palate is rounded and poised, carried by fine tannins and fresh acidity into a clean, lightly spiced finish. Its supple shape suits roast chicken, grilled salmon or mushroom dishes, where the bright fruit and restrained oak can remain in balance.

About Henri de Villamont
Henri de Villamont works from a Savigny-lès-Beaune winery built for Léonce Bocquet in the late nineteenth century. Architect Charles Suisse spent eight years constructing the complex for winemaking and ageing. Schenk bought the property and established Henri de Villamont in 1964; a major renovation of the winery followed in 2004.
The estate has ten hectares of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with vineyards ranging from village sites to Premier Cru and Grand Cru. Estate fruit is picked by hand, and the winery also buys grapes from local growers whose vineyards its team monitors. Oak-aged wines spend six to eighteen months in French oak in the vaulted cellars, with the oak’s origin, toast and proportion of new casks chosen for each appellation.
