Castellare di Castellina Grappa di Sangioveto
$141.99
Fresh floral aromas lead, with iris and a clean grape character giving the spirit lift. The palate is dry, clear and finely textured, balancing aromatic intensity with a softer, more graceful feel than its strength might suggest. Distillation soon after pressing preserves the freshness of the Sangioveto marc and keeps the profile precise rather than heavy. The finish is elegant and persistent, carrying flowers, grape skin and gentle warmth. Serve neat after a meal.

About Castellare di Castellina
Paolo Panerai brought four estates together in the 1970s to create the modern Castellare di Castellina, in the heart of Chianti Classico. Its vineyards form a southeast-facing amphitheatre of limestone marl, galestro and clay, with native Tuscan varieties at the centre of its Chianti Classico wines. An experimental vineyard developed with the universities of Milan and Florence helped the estate select Sangiovese clones suited to its land.
Émile Peynaud guided its early work with French oak, while restored concrete tanks still hold wines before bottling. The vineyards are farmed without synthetic chemicals, a commitment reflected in labels that feature a different threatened local bird each vintage.
