Rich orange and lemon lead the nose, followed by honeysuckle, vanilla, coconut and a suggestion of ripe barley fields. The palate combines polished oak with more citrus, melon, classic scone, almond and green tea. Sherry-seasoned oak and bourbon casks bring breadth while retaining freshness, and the finish is rich, sweet and long. Serve neat, giving it a few minutes to open.

About The Macallan
The Macallan’s licensed history began in 1824 at Easter Elchies, its estate above the River Spey. Oak preparation is central to its whisky-making, beginning with wood selected at source and casks made and seasoned to the distillery’s specifications. American and European oak casks are seasoned with sherry in Jerez before being filled with whisky. The Macallan describes a journey of roughly six years from tree to finished cask—before the whisky’s own ageing begins.
