Pindarie 2021 The Risk Taker Tempranillo

Black cherry, liquorice and dark plum are joined by scorched earth, dried herbs and spice. The palate is rich and generous, with black fruit, savoury tones and a sturdy tannin structure that brings a slightly chewy texture. Ten months in French oak barrels are part of the maturation, and the finish is long, ripe and savoury.

About Pindarie
Pindarie is Tony Brooks and Wendy Allan’s family-owned farm and winery on the Western Ridge of the Barossa. They took over Tony’s grandfather’s property in 1990 and began restoring its over-cleared land. Today, the 760-acre farm combines vineyards, sheep, pasture and old olive trees.
Wendy brings her vineyard experience and Tony his agricultural background to an estate-grown range, choosing varieties suited to the warm, dry conditions. Since 1990 they have planted more than 15,000 native trees and shrubs and set aside six hectares for native habitat. Sheep graze the vineyards in winter, helping control weeds and return nutrients to the soil.
