Salvajes de Gredos 2023 Marino Blanco

Straw in colour, the wine carries ripe fruit, dried flowers, fine-lees character and dried herbs. The palate is juicy and varietal. Albillo Real comes from seventy-five-year-old vines in San Martín de Valdeiglesias, rooted in sandy soil over granite. The vineyard is managed organically without herbicides or insecticides, and horses are used in place of machinery.

About Salvajes de Gredos
Long-time friends Marc Isart and Miguel Santiago Carrillo founded Salvajes de Gredos in 2023, each bringing more than fifteen years of winemaking experience in the Sierra de Gredos. They work 15 hectares around Cadalso de los Vidrios and San Martín de Valdeiglesias, on sandy granite soils roughly 800 to 930 metres above sea level.
Many parcels are more than fifty years old, with Garnacha, Albillo Real and Cariñena at the heart of the vineyards. In the cellar, they ferment with wild yeasts and use old wood for ageing.
