Giovanni Chiappini 2013 Guado de’ Gemoli Bolgheri Superiore Magnum
$314.99
Cassis, ripe black cherry and raspberry open with tobacco, liquorice, black pepper and a quiet balsamic note. The palate is concentrated and vigorous, combining dark fruit with close-grained tannins, savoury olive and measured toast. Fresh acidity and a saline edge keep the richness in balance, carrying the wine into a long, firm finish. Decant carefully and serve with braised beef, roast lamb or porcini dishes.

About Giovanni Chiappini
Giovanni Chiappini's story in Bolgheri begins with his family's move from Le Marche during the land reforms of the 1950s. He bought his first farm in the 1970s, and by the end of the 1990s winegrowing had become its central work. His daughters Martina and Lisa work alongside him.
The estate's eleven hectares of vineyards are divided between Via Bolgherese and Ferruggini, with different soils and exposures. Organic farming began in 2010, and the grapes grown include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
