Sangiovese from Casale del Bosco and Manachiara is blended from twenty separate vinifications. Grapes are hand harvested, then fermentation and maceration last twenty-eight days below twenty-eight degrees. Maturation lasts twenty-four months in large Slavonian oak, followed by eighteen months in bottle. The wine shows dark colour saturation, with dark fruit, plum, soft potting soil and grilled herb, alongside freshness and a tannic backbone.

About Tenute Silvio Nardi
Tenute Silvio Nardi began in Montalcino when Silvio Nardi acquired Casale del Bosco in 1950. The first Brunello followed in 1954, and the purchase of Manachiara in 1962 established a second estate on the opposite side of the appellation. Casale del Bosco lies in north-west Montalcino and Manachiara in the south-east, with Sangiovese grown at both.
The house Brunello blends twenty separately made batches from the two estates, while Vigneto Manachiara comes from its namesake vineyard. Years of vineyard mapping and vine selection led to four estate Sangiovese clones entering Italy’s national register in 2019.
