Clos Fornelli 2023 Corse Vermentino
$42.99
White flowers, lemon and lime meet ripe peach, fennel and a cool stony note. Roundness gives the palate gentle breadth, but lively acidity and coastal salinity keep everything precise. The finish is crisp, persistent and lightly spicy, with citrus pith and almond adding a subtle savoury edge.

About Clos Fornelli
Clos Fornelli is Josée Vanucci-Couloumère and Fabrice Couloumère’s family estate in Corsica’s lower Bravone valley. Josée’s ancestors were shepherds from Boziu who settled here and planted vines. After renovating an old cellar, Josée and Fabrice bottled their first wines in 2005.
Their wines use Corsican varieties, including rare grapes replanted with help from the island’s viticultural research centre. The vines grow on terraces of loam, sand and rounded stones, formed from eroded schist carried down from Castagniccia. The vineyard is managed without herbicides, with irrigation avoided unless the vines’ survival is at risk.
