Juicy blackberry, blueberry and raspberry lead, with wild herbs and earthy notes adding savoury depth. Pinot Noir, Gamay and Marechal Foch bring bright fruit, lively acidity and fine, medium tannins to a textured, energetic palate. The finish stays fresh and lightly rustic, making this cool-climate red a natural match for charcuterie, roast pork, grilled mushrooms or lentil dishes.

About Averill Creek Vineyard
Former physician and wine educator Andy Johnston founded Averill Creek after gaining practical wine experience abroad. The first vines were planted on Mount Prevost in the Cowichan Valley in 2001, with Pinot Noir at the heart of the project.
A gravity-flow winery built into the hillside reduces the need for pumping. The winemaking uses wild fermentation and limited additions.
