Corvo 2021 Nero d’Avola Sicilia

Deep ruby-garnet colour accompanies cherry, plum and blackberry, with spice, violet and camphor. The palate is full-bodied, velvety and balanced, with fruit, berry, graphite, liquorice and dried-thyme notes. A long finish is also present. Six to eight days of skin maceration precede alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. The wine then spends at least ten months in large oak casks, followed by time in enamelled vats and one month in bottle.

About Corvo
Corvo dates to 1824, when Prince Giuseppe Alliata vinified grapes from his land around Bagheria and created Corvo Bianco and Corvo Rosso. By 1874 the house had brought in Bordeaux oenologist Jean Lagarde, registered the Corvo name in Palermo and was selling wine in Italy and abroad. Its grapes come exclusively from Sicilian growers, who follow the company’s vineyard practices; many have supplied Corvo for more than twenty years.
