Intense and deeply herbal, with wormwood, gentian and holy thistle giving the nose a firm bitter structure. A careful blend of more than thirty herbs builds aromatic breadth, moving through roots, dry spice and a restrained underlying sweetness. The palate is concentrated but composed, with the bitterness gaining definition rather than heaviness as it develops. A long, warming finish leaves persistent herbs and gentle spice. Serve neat, chilled or over ice, with orange peel if desired.

About Lucano 1894
Lucano began in Pisticci, Basilicata, in 1894, when pastry chef Pasquale Vena developed an amaro by blending more than thirty herbs. First made in the family’s biscuit shop, the liqueur went on to earn Lucano an appointment as supplier to the House of Savoy. Production stopped during the Second World War, and Pasquale’s sons Giuseppe and Leonardo rebuilt the business afterwards.
For the recipe’s 120th anniversary, the family returned to an old manuscript to create Anniversario, giving greater emphasis to wormwood, gentian and holy thistle.
