Garnacha Tintorera is pressed directly without skin contact, preserving freshness and crunchy fruit. Most of the fruit comes from El Cuchillejo in Olmos de Peñafiel, a north-facing vineyard planted in nineteen fifty-three at 850 metres on limestone-clay soil. Additional fruit comes from old plots in Burgos, Valladolid and Segovia. The wine is a rosé made without ageing.

About Alfredo Maestro
Alfredo Maestro began making wine in 1998 in a family garage in Peñafiel, Valladolid, where the first work was done entirely by hand. He has since recovered small, old vineyards across Castilla y León and other parts of central Spain.
In the cellar, Maestro relies on indigenous yeasts for spontaneous fermentation and works with vessels ranging from stainless steel and used French oak to chestnut casks, former oloroso botas, clay and concrete.
