Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2003 Pauillac
$1,699.99
Rich and opulent, opening with intense blackcurrant, ripe dark plum and cassis before cedar, tobacco leaf, vanilla and warm spice emerge. Full-bodied and concentrated, the palate carries generous fruit on polished tannins with enough freshness to keep the texture poised. A subtle floral lift brightens the long, savoury finish. Decant and serve with roast lamb or beef.

About Mouton Rothschild
Château Mouton Rothschild took its name in 1853, when Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild bought Château Brane-Mouton at auction in Pauillac. Baron Philippe took charge in 1922 and, two years later, required the entire harvest to be bottled at the château. Jean Carlu designed the 1924 label; the annual artist-label tradition began in 1945.
Mouton was elevated to First Growth in 1973. Its Pauillac vineyard lies on deep gravel over a clay-limestone base, with gentle slopes that aid drainage and exposure to sunlight. Cabernet Sauvignon is central to the estate’s Pauillac wines.
