Crisp and bright, with plenty of lime zest and a hint of buttercream. Delicate floral notes accompany sweet apple, pear and honeydew melon. Citrus and green apple appear on a refreshing palate. The wine is light, lively and unoaked. This Vancouver Island Pinot Grigio has substance rather than a watery texture and can accompany barbecued prawns, a zingy salad, light seafood, shellfish, pasta or risotto.

About Averill Creek Vineyard
Former physician and wine educator Andy Johnston founded Averill Creek after gaining practical wine experience abroad. The first vines were planted on Mount Prevost in the Cowichan Valley in 2001, with Pinot Noir at the heart of the project.
A gravity-flow winery built into the hillside reduces the need for pumping. The winemaking uses wild fermentation and limited additions.
