Sweet toffee and orchard fruit open the nose, followed by cracked black pepper and a measured thread of peat smoke. The palate brings apples and forest berries together with dark chocolate, rich sherry and charred oak. Maturation in first-fill sherry and bourbon casks gives the whisky depth without obscuring its fruit, while the smoke remains restrained and savoury. The finish is long and composed, carrying cocoa, pepper, oak and soft smoke. Serve neat or add a small amount of water.
