Sunny and Camille Mehta began experimenting with distilling around 2010, after their children had gone to bed. They opened family-owned Wildflower Distilling in downtown Penticton in July 2023, with Rob Desjardins at the still.
The small-batch distillery works with local grain and whole botanicals. For its limoncello, lemons are peeled by hand and made into liqueur using a traditional Italian recipe.

Canadian Liqueur
Hand-peeled lemons give this liqueur a bright, direct citrus character, with fragrant peel oils and fresh lemon flavour at the centre. A measured sweetness rounds the tartness without turning heavy, leaving the palate clean and refreshing. The finish is lively, lightly bitter and distinctly lemon-led. Serve thoroughly chilled, pour over ice after dinner, or use a small measure to sharpen a spritz or citrus cocktail.
