A Pacific sailing trip brought Greg and Sue White to the Marlborough Sounds, where they found the setting for Whitehaven, established in 1994. The name and anchor emblem recall that voyage, and Sue continues to lead the family winery. Their daughter Samantha and her husband Josh joined the business in 2020.
The wines are made entirely in Marlborough, at a purpose-built winery near Renwick that opened in 2002. Vineyard sites span the Wairau, Awatere and Southern Valleys, bringing the region’s three principal subregions into the range.
