AboutViña Costeira
Galician growers founded Viña Costeira in 1968 with a shared ambition to revive Ribeiro’s traditional grape varieties. Treixadura, Godello, Albariño and Loureira were central to that work. Based in Ribadavia, the cooperative works in the river valleys of Ribeiro, shaped by the Miño, Avia and Arnoia. Its members’ vineyards supply three wineries across southern Galicia.
Viña Costeira 2023 Tamborá Godello Ribeiro
Spanish White
Greenish yellow with golden reflections, showing white fruit, apple, pear, floral and botanical notes over a mineral background. The palate is balanced, broad and unctuous, with a glyceric, persistent finish and a herbal aftertaste. Godello is hand harvested in eighteen-kilogram boxes in San Cibrao. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at eighteen degrees, followed by four to six months on lees and maturation in tank. The sandy, granite-origin soils contain schist.
Viña Costeira 2024 Meu Albariño Ribeiro
Spanish White
Citrus and Granny Smith apple lead, joined by melon and freshly cut herbs. Peach, crisp apple and orange blossom follow on a full, gently textured palate, with a cool mint note adding lift. Fresh acidity carries the fruit into a clean, persistent finish. A polished match for shellfish, grilled fish or herb-led salads.
