AboutVilla Maria
George Fistonich started Villa Maria in 1961 on five acres leased from his father, making his first vintage the following year from just one acre of vines. Marlborough vineyards followed in the 1970s, and international exports began in 1988. In 2001, Villa Maria switched its entire range to screw caps.
The winery became part of New Zealand’s Indevin Group in 2021. A founding member of Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand, Villa Maria has both vineyards and wineries certified through the programme.
Villa Maria 2025 Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough
New Zealand White
Lemon, passion fruit, guava and gooseberry appear with lime leaf, fresh-cut grass, asparagus and medicinal white cherry. The wine is dry and lively, with a snappy, citrus-led finish. Made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc in Marlborough, it is fermented cool in stainless steel. The profile remains fresh and direct, combining tropical fruit, citrus and green herbal notes.
