Vietti’s story begins in the late nineteenth century, when Carlo Vietti established a winery at Castiglione Falletto in the Langhe. Luciana Vietti and winemaker Alfredo Currado brought a new creative energy in the late 1950s, linking the family’s wine culture with their interest in art.
That relationship became concrete in 1974 with the Artist Labels project: selected wines received original, vintage-specific works commissioned from artists. The idea gave the bottles a visual language rooted in the same place and vintage as the wine.
The Krause family acquired Vietti in 2016 and expanded its vineyard holdings across Barolo and Barbaresco. Today’s range moves from Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco and blended Barolo Castiglione to site-specific Barolo such as Brunate and Lazzarito—the exact families represented in this catalogue.
Vietti 2018 Castiglione Barolo
Italian Red
Nebbiolo from several Barolo parcels forms the blend. Wild berry, rose, rusty iron, mint, raspberry, dried orange and floral elements appear in the profile. The palate is compact and juicy, with firm tannins. Vinification and maturation are carried out separately before the final blend is selected. The wine spent thirty months in wood and has fourteen-and-a-half percent alcohol.
Vietti 2021 Perbacco Langhe Nebbiolo 1.5 L

Fruit, mint, spice and raspberry accompany round tannins and a long finish. The wine is made entirely from Nebbiolo, with grapes drawn mainly from vineyards in the Barolo and Barbaresco production areas. Alcoholic fermentation lasts about three to four weeks, followed by malolactic fermentation in steel or barriques. The separate vineyard lots mature in barriques and large casks for approximately eighteen to twenty months before blending in steel for bottling.

Sour cherry, plum and crushed red berries lead a lifted, finely detailed bouquet. Rose petal, mint and alpine herbs add freshness, while tobacco, leather and white pepper bring savoury depth. The palate is structured yet composed, its bright acidity and fine tannins carrying the fruit with clarity. Long and chalky, it finishes with dried flowers, spice and a measured mineral grip.

Italian Red
Ripe red fruit opens with mint, sweet spice and a lightly floral note. The palate is robust and generous in its youth, yet shaped by rounded, elegant tannins and enough freshness to keep the fruit clear. Savoury earth and dried herbs emerge through the middle. The finish is long and refined, leaving red cherry, spice and a composed mineral persistence.
