First proposed in 2010, Townsite Brewing opened in Powell River on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast in spring 2012. Its beers draw on Belgian brewing influences, with names inspired by Powell River’s landscape and community. Townsite belongs to the Economusée network, which showcases living artisan skills.

Tart cherry and raisin lead a dark-fruited profile, with subtle caramel malt adding roundness beneath the acidity. The balance is complex yet composed, bringing together vinous fruit, gentle sweetness and the refreshing edge expected of an oud bruin. Serve cool with braised beef, roast duck, aged Gouda, charcuterie, mushroom dishes, dark chocolate or fruit-led desserts.
