AboutToro Albalá

Toro Albalá’s family history begins in 1844 at La Noria, an old mill beneath the castle of Aguilar de la Frontera. In 1922, José María Toro Albalá turned the town’s former power station into a winery, using its underground cellars for long ageing.

The Montilla-Moriles house works with Pedro Ximénez to make dry finos and amontillados as well as sweet, vintage-dated wines. Its Fino Eléctrico recalls the power station in both its name and its lightbulb-shaped bottle.
