Tenuta Argentiera
Tenuta Argentiera 2013 Poggio ai Ginepri Bolgheri
Black cherry, blackberry and plum appear with sweet spice, dark chocolate and a fresh profile. The palate is well structured, with soft tannins, and the aftertaste is long and filled with fruit and spice. The vineyard lies less than one kilometre from the sea on red aeolian sands, between twenty and eighty metres above sea level, with a western aspect in coastal Tuscany.
Tenuta Argentiera 2011 Villa Donoratico Bolgheri Rosso
Subdued aromas of dried blueberry, leather, espresso, oak and exotic spice accompany blackberry, graphite and liquorice. The tannins are lithe. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot make up the blend. The vineyard lies between 30 and 80 metres, with continental sands and flysch composed of limestone, marl, clay, sandstone and siliceous rock. The site is planted at 6,000 vines per hectare.
Tenuta Argentiera 2024 Eco di Mare Vermentino Toscana IGT
Lime, grapefruit, toasted almond and wildflowers appear with lavender, white flowers and a light herbal note recalling wild sage. The palate is fresh and balanced, with pronounced salinity and minerality. Vermentino grows in Donoratico’s red aeolian sands at twenty to eighty metres, with a western exposure. Grapes are harvested by hand; fermentation and fine-lees contact last fifteen days in stainless steel.
Tenuta Argentiera 2020 Villa Donoratico 12L
Blackberry, blueberry and black plum are framed by tobacco, smoked cedar, dark chocolate and warm spice. The palate is generous but well shaped, with polished tannins and enough freshness to carry the ripe fruit. Twelve months in large French and Austrian oak brings structure rather than overt sweetness, followed by six months in bottle. Serve with grilled ribeye, braised beef, roast lamb or aged Pecorino.
