AboutSpeyside Distillery
Speyside Distillery makes SPEY single malt beside the River Tromie. George Christie commissioned the distillery in 1962, but construction was not completed until 1987. Its first spirit ran in December 1990, followed by the launch of Drumguish single malt in 1993.
Harvey’s of Edinburgh acquired the distillery in 2012, and a new SPEY range followed in 2014. The range includes port- and sherry-cask finishes as well as peated expressions.
SPEY Chairman’s Choice Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Scottish Whisky
Floral fruit and vanilla lead the nose, followed by malt, caramel and a touch of oak. The palate is mild and velvety, with dried fruit, apple and honey layered over soft nutty tones and gentle spice. A savoury thread keeps the sweetness composed, while creamy malt carries through the middle. The finish is long, smooth and fruit-led, returning to vanilla, honey and light oak. Serve neat or with a few drops of water.
SPEY Royal Choice Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Scottish Whisky
Toffee, dried fruit and polished oak form a warm, concentrated nose. The palate is creamy and smooth, bringing butterscotch and measured baking spice together with a deeper layer of mature oak. The texture is rich without becoming heavy, and the fruit remains present beneath the sweeter cask tones. A long, silky finish carries lingering spice, oak and caramelized richness. Drawn from some of the distillery's oldest casks, this is a composed, full-flavoured Speyside malt to serve neat or with a small splash of water.
