The palate is soft and full, with wheat rounding the rye’s peppery warmth while apricot, orchard fruit and toasted sugar add depth. Ex-bourbon and new American oak casks contribute char, vanilla and firm structure without making the whisky severe. The finish is long and gently spicy, carrying toffee, grain and charred oak. Serve neat, over ice or stirred into an Old Fashioned.
