Rugby teammates Jamie Overgaard and Stephen Gregorig started Smugglers Trail in Langley in 2017, opening their brewery and tasting room three years later. Cask-conditioned ale reflects a strong British influence; the brewery also makes lagers, pale ales, stouts and fruit sours. The original Trail Head brewery and kitchen is joined by Trails End in Fort Langley.
Smugglers Trail Caskworks Dry Hopped Sake Sour

Light-bodied and tart, with Nelson Sauvin hops bringing a distinctive white-wine-like fruit character. Fermentation with house ale yeast and Japanese sake yeast adds lemon peel, honeydew, Gala apple and tannic white-grape notes, giving the wheat-ale base a vinous edge without changing its identity as beer. Serve well chilled with sashimi, grilled prawns, fresh chèvre, citrus-dressed salads or lightly spiced noodles.

A smooth, full-textured hazy IPA led by ripe tropical fruit. Fuzzy peach, lemon and lime give the palate a vivid, juicy centre, while orange-creamsicle and melon-candy notes add a softer, playful layer. The mouthfeel is creamy and velvety, carrying the fruit through a rounded finish without losing its citrus lift. Serve cool with fried chicken, fish tacos, grilled pork, spicy noodles or sharp cheddar.

Smooth and easy-drinking, this British-style ale is built on rich English malts for a warm, toasty core. Classic hops provide balance, while stone fruit and berry notes add quiet aromatic lift. The palate is clear and composed, moving from gentle malt sweetness into a measured bitter finish. Serve slightly cooler than cellar temperature with shepherd's pie, sausages, roast pork or aged cheddar.
Smugglers Trail Broken Sun Hazy Pale Ale 4-Pack
Canadian Beer
Australian hops shape this New World pale ale, while caramel malts are omitted. The recipe uses oats and wheat and is described as very light. Its detailed profile adds tangerine, mandarin, honeydew melon and subtle pineapple over a flaked-wheat base. Technical information lists five-point-five per cent alcohol and identifies the style as hazy pale ale.
