This Vancouver Island collaboration brings together Small Gods, the family-operated Sidney brewery, and Whistle Buoy, a small-batch brewery in Victoria’s Market Square. Small Gods brings books, food and events to its taproom; at Whistle Buoy, visitors can see the compact brewery at work beside a courtyard taproom. Their Fields of Plenty beer uses malt from Field 5 Farm in North Saanich and fresh hops from Maple Bay Hop Farm in the Cowichan Valley.

Freshly picked hops lead a vivid green aroma, with clean citrus and a gently resinous edge over locally malted grain. The palate is crisp and medium-bodied, balancing bright hop character with a clear, lightly bready malt foundation. Moderate bitterness gives shape without overwhelming the fresh aromatics. The finish is dry, energetic and distinctly hop-led. Serve well chilled with fish tacos, grilled sausages, sharp cheddar, or fried chicken.
